AERITH GAINSBOROUGH

While neither of them is terribly inclined to share much about themselves, Balthier and Aerith have developed a comfortable companionship. They both respect one another's right to keep secrets, more or less, but the more Balthier realizes they have in common, the more curious he finds himself. At the moment, Aerith is the closest friend he's allowed himself to have here in Avalon.

TIFA LOCKHART

Though fairly new acquaintances, Tifa has been quick to let Balthier know exactly what she thinks of this place as well as him. He has noted her to be kind and compassionate, as well as unafraid to let him know when she disapproves of his actions or worries for him. Regardless, he enjoys her company, and may even quietly appreciate her moral compass.

CLAUDE VON RIEGAN

A kindred spirit in perhaps all the most frustrating ways, depending on who you ask. Balthier appreciates Claude's cleverness as well, and like recognizes like when it comes to their similarly elusive natures. There are Two of Them.

CLAIRE REDFIELD

Claire has proven herself to be a reliable quest partner and trustworthy ally. Her world sounds like it's been particularly unkind to her, and he's glad that this one seems to be offering her some reprieve, even if it's not necessarily anyone's first choice. Should he need a partner for future ventures, he knows he can trust Claire to have his back.

JUZO INUI

Balthier had offered up his mechanical skills to assist Juzo before his own personal engineer arrived, but his interest in the man remains. He has a firearm for a head— appropriate or not, Balthier can't help being curious about its inner workings, and it doesn't hurt that Juzo himself is an interesting sort.

MARY STEINBERG

An engineer from the same world as Juzo. Though they've only just met, Balthier is certain to want to hear everything she's willing to share about Extended and her work with them.

ZIDANE TRIBAL

A thief that Balthier thinks may well have what it takes to be an interesting rival, though they have very different approaches to their chosen potential. For one, Balthier believes his own to be more stylish.
